excellent question though I think its better to answer what do expect is going to happen after death? Since I doubt that there is a consensus on that. From my understanding Heaven is a place of rest, one should expect great joy and peace. The bible speaks of sitting down with Abraham and etc, so I would expect that one would be with those that have likewise passed, I don't believe it is possible for those in heaven to see what is going on here, so I don't see the point in praying to saints, mary or dead relatives. Also, heaven is not the purpose that Christ came to the earth, but to bring the kingdom of God to the earth, and in the appointed time we shall be resurrected onto a new world. Jerusalem shall be reborn a holy city that is lit night and day. I can only speculate as to what our purpose in this new world will be.,I think perhaps to bring life to every corner of the universe, but who can say? Whatever it is I am sure that will not be a place of rest but of labor.
