Why me

topic posted Fri, October 19, 2007 - 5:43 AM by  aluminumfunm...
It's obvious that everyone on line has or has access to a compuitor, have you ever wondered why was I so fortunate to have been born in this country where I have all the opportunity to be prosperous and never go to bed hungry. I can't ever remember worshiping the Lord and looking over my shoulder thinking that if I get caught I could be put to death. I read once that if you have a bowl sitting on your cabinets with pocket change in it you are wealthier than 30% of the people in the world. I have often wondered why me, why was I so lucky ? How about you?

I honestly have never wondered. I just try to make good use out of whatever blessings I am given. :o)

In the USA many people are very lucky.
Not all of us, but many are.
There are things that money cannot buy however.
Faith for example, or friendship. A person cannot buy those things.
Many people in the US are poorer than they themselves think.
Money wise i believe the saying that it's 10% who has the 90%
Though I am very thankful for what I have
which isn't everything, but it's more then many have.
I do remember wondering where my next meal was coming from though.
      It wasn't so long ago,
but at that time, i did have a roof over my head, though i have come close to being on the streets.
Thus my evidence for God, because I am here, not there.
somethings work out so happy ending movie style, coincidences and such,
that there must be an author.

I don't consider it as worth anything. Wealth does not make one closer to God, nor the absence of it.

I agree Ricardo, Some times I just feel a little guilty, and I have very little, I have suffered a great deal of pain and loss in my life but God has continued to amaze me with his grace and love. My son who was wise beyond his years wrote this when he was 16 " If i have accumulated wealth or not, when I die I will still die the same as kings and paupers" he had it pretty well figured out from an early age.
      Thanks for your Thoughts
      In Him
